Constant nagging as I'm reading|listening #1

As I'm listening to Nalini Singh's "Kiss of snow" (Psy-Changeling #10) I can't get rid of the feeling of disappointment. Do you remember it's my second try? The first time I stopped reading when the relationship between the heroes got hotter. I completely forgot the reason for putting away the book. Now I remember.
First, I'd like to say I love Singh. Second, it's my favourite series. Third, I love the heroes - I have waited patiently for their story.
But let me nag.
Guys, from the beginning of the series we are constantly told how young Sienna is. It seems her age is the only thing Hawk talks about in "Kiss of snow". I'm so invested in the story that I see Sienna as a small child. And now he starts petting her. And I feel disgusted.
Please!!! Let her grow up! Let her be, you pervert!

My reading goals. My favourite trope

I've been thinking that if I want to find romance books enjoyable again I must renew the acquaintance with my favourite trope. I don't have to tell what a trope is. You may love or despise them, but they are out there in Romancelandia.
My favourite trope is "Hero chases heroine".
I love it when the right honorable  man pursues the girl he has fallen in love with. Nothing gives me more satisfaction.
So I have looked up a list "Historical Romance: He chases after her" at Goodreads and would like to try. I read the first eight books in the past and found some of them extrordinary and some simply ordinary.
The book I'm going to read next is Mary Balogh - Slightly dangerous.

I'm not a Balogh's fan though I have enjoyed some of her books. Too much angst for my taste. I haven't read anything from this series. I truly hope it's not about a heroine who throws caution to the wind and goes to bed with the hero straightaway simply because she wants it. In modern times - yes, in those times - definite no. Hope I'll like it.

My reading goals. Best of the best

I've recently realised I haven't read that many romance novels whish are considered the best of the best.
Time to act. Now is just the moment to find out what I am missing.
Looking at the results of the 2013 AAR Top Romance poll I think I'd better start from bottom to top just to make things  more interesting.

№100
Georgette Heyer - Sylvester

I'm quite ashamed to tell you that I haven't read Georgette Heyer before. I'm really hoping to fall in love. I'll share my thoughts with you when I finish it. Or I'd better listen to the audiobook. Richard Armitage is beyond sexy.

On a quest for great romance novels

I used to read romances daily. I loved them. It was like watching romantic movies in my mind. Dashing heroes and bewitching beautiful heroines kept me on my toes. Reading happy-ends put me in a great mood. I enjoyed re-reading witty dialogues and steamy bed scenes.
But then one day everything changed.
I've lost interest.
With every book my disenchantment grew. Everything became too predictable, plots too boring and characters too unlikable.
I want to fall in love with books again. I need some good romance novels in my life.
